Shawn J. Organ

Shawn Organ is an accomplished trial lawyer whose career has been defined by courtroom advocacy, complex litigation, and a deep commitment to the trial bar. In 2025, Shawn was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier professional organizations for trial lawyers in North America. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only after careful review and is reserved for trial lawyers who have demonstrated the highest standards of trial advocacy, ethics, professionalism, integrity, and collegiality; membership is limited to no more than one percent of the lawyer population in any state or province.

For Shawn, the formation of a litigation boutique represents the culmination of a career devoted to trial work. From serving as a federal law clerk for the Honorable George C. Smith to teaching trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, Shawn has built his practice around the skills, judgment, and preparation required to try cases effectively.

As an associate and then a partner at Jones Day in Columbus, Shawn defended some of the nation’s largest companies in class actions and complex commercial disputes throughout the United States. His experience includes representing major clients in the banking, automotive, retail, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and consumer-products industries.

Some of Mr. Organ’s clients have included Cardinal Health, Cummins Engine, Eastman Kodak, IBM, Bausch & Lomb, Macy’s, Elder-Beerman, LTV, Montgomery Ward, Bank of America, NationsBank, LaSalle, Lehman Brothers, Stride Rite, and MovieTickets.com.

In addition to teaching trial advocacy, Shawn serves on the board of the Legal Aid Society of Columbus. He also volunteered for four years coaching and mentoring a local inner-city mock trial team. Since 2009, he has been named a Top Lawyer by Columbus CEO magazine, and he is consistently recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer in Litigation.
